Wishing you a Happy Birthday.

Today you would have been 78 years old!
(Mum's 21st Party)

You are very much missed everyday and it's not the same without you.

Bailey also misses his Nanny and the biscuit treats you gave him when you had your cup of tea!

Love you very much.

Mini Make Over....

I have finally finished my mini make over!

My outdoor setting was looking a little bit worse for wear and since I have had my pergola done it looked a bit....should I say....crappy.... under the new pergola.

A bit rusty looking aren't they!

I couldn't afford to buy the new setting that I liked, so i thought why not paint the old one.

I think it looks like new and a lot brighter under the pergola too!

It was finally sunny over the weekend, so I was pottering around the garden and Bailey was lying on the grass soaking up the sun.

While I was taking photos of him he started to crawl along the grass, he went nearly the length of the yard, crawling, then stop, look at me, crawling, then stop, look at me, it was so funny to watch. I had my camera in my hand so I started videoing him.  I have added part of the video so you can have a laugh.

This is me and Bailey jumping in puddles of water in the backyard after all the rain that we had last week.

A couple of weeks ago I visited a historic house in North Richmond, NSW.  The house is on acres and has lovely gardens.

The front door

It was a very peaceful setting, all you could hear were the bellbirds in the trees.

Enjoy your day!

A Bit Of This N That....

For Christmas I received off my Dad this great Garden Cart.  We do a $50 Kris Kringle and my Dad got to pick for me.  Well....to be honest I told him what I wanted and I picked it up.

I love it...it is so much easier to cart my potting mix and sugar cane mulch around the garden.

Bailey thinking he might get a ride in this!!

A couple of weeks ago I went to visit my friend Chris in the shop that she works at and yes I bought some things.

First is this great childs horse riding hat....I have hung it under my pergola with some old horse blinkers which I had sitting in the shed that I was going to put on the old post/rail fence in the garden but I thought they would go well with the hat.

I also bought these cute barn welcome sign and birdhouse.

A few of my beans and tomatoes that I have picked....I have been very disappointed with my vegies so far this year, with not much sun they haven't been growing.

Even my crepe myrtle trees which flower great every year haven't had many flowers on them at all...very disappointing.

I have a new project that I have started and which I hope to finish this weekend, depending on the weather....let's hope it's a sunny weekend.

Stay tuned to see what it is!

Have a great day!

New Cookbook and DVD

I purchased a couple of weeks ago Donna Hay's cooking DVD fast, fresh, simple.
I like watching people make the dishes as you can pick up tips and they make it look easy!

I also decided to buy the cookbook under the same name. The book has some great recipes and there is a picture for each recipe, which I have to have in a cookbook.

I have watched half of the first disk of the DVD and wow some of the dishes are so easy to make. When you look at them in the book, you think, oh that would be too hard, but no way, so easy.

I decided to make the Cheat's Chocolate Eclairs (sorry, forgot to take a photo, so I have taken a photo of the ones in the book), and how easy were they. All they are are the italian sponge finger biscuits cut in half with the cream mixture and melted chocolate on top. So easy and look very impressive!
The only problem I had with them was trying to cut the sponge biscuits in half, they kept breaking, so I ended up using a whole one on top and bottom, they were still nice but a bit big to eat. My friend Grace, who I made them for, and who is Italian, said there are different types of sponge finger biscuits, so maybe it will be trial and error.

(Sorry...not a good photo!)

I will let you know when I have made some more of the recipes and I will make sure I take a photo next time.

Enjoy your day!
