I thought I would share some photos of my backyard, only after I mowed on the weekend and it looked tidy!
My new/old purchase from the weekend markets is this great old wheelbarrow, although the bucket is not old it still looks really good...I think anyway. On what to decide to put in the bucket I decided against plants as I didn't want the wood to rot, so my good friend Chris suggested putting old garden tools in it and they look great. The shovel and fork I picked up for $5 for the two at a garage sale.
The next photo is of one of my crepe myrtle trees, these flowered great this year. Also in this photo is my seat that my partner Steve made for me.
I would love to hide the back fence and it is a work in progress to get it covered, hopefully I will get there one day. In the garden along the back fence is an old cyclops scooter leaning on an old gate.
In the photo below, the blue gate my Dad made for our family home when I was little, brings back memories of swinging on the gate to close it...and didn't we get into trouble for doing that!!! Just under the 2nd crepe mrytle tree is my little cubby house, which houses spider webs, my shade plants and bailey loves to get in there an sniff around. The right of the tree near the cubby is my little hills hoist that my Dad made for me when I was little.
Last photo is of the back of my house. Next month I am finally getting my pergola put up (after 5 yrs of being here)...can't wait. To the left in the photo, lying on the path is my new/old post & rail fence which I bought at the local market as well. I can't wait until it gets put up....maybe over Easter. Once it is up I will take a photo and do a post on it.
So there is short tour of my small backyard....maybe one day I will have a bigger one!
Enjoy your day!
Great back yard lots of interesting things. I have a wheel barrow like that too but I need to build a box to go on it as it is only a frame.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely back yard and isn't it funny, I like your wooden back fence, we have star pickets and wire :o) I cant wait until we have more time to spend in the garden, but we have to put the majority of our $$ into the inside of the cottage for now.
Thank you for popping over to visit my blog it is nice to have you visit.
Hugs
Chris
