New/Old Backyard Fence...

Over the weekend I put up my new/old post and rail fence.  I did it all by myself and it took me about an hour in the pouring rain.  It was a very attractive sight with my blue raincoat and gumboots on, digging the holes while it was pouring with rain, but I was determined to get it done.  Bailey was with me until the rain got too heavy and then he decided the rain was too much for him so he took cover in his warm kennel....so much for the support!

I think it has turned out quite good and yes it is sturdy!

I put an old saddle that found at a market for $15 on it and an old horses haine which I have had a for a long time....I knew it would come in handy one day.  A wheel at the front and some grandpa's whiskers on the side and there you have it.

After some discussion we decided that some old corregated iron panels would look good covering the fence behind, but that will have to wait until my beans have stopped growing.

I think it looks quite good next to the seat too.

I have moved the old wheelbarrow that was in its place to another part of the garden, but I still have to move it around to different spots until I am happy with it.

Now I will have to think what my next project will be!!!

Oh, my antiquing day on Saturday turned out to be a very rainy day and unfortunately without any purchases that were worth showing....oh well, maybe next time.  All in all the day was great to have a catch up with a lot of laughs.

Enjoy your day!

  5. Hello Karen...Hi Bailey ( waving)
Thank you for your comment on my blog, it was so lovely to see you. I've just been looking at your 'collections' and couldn't help having a little chuckle to myself, as the items you have reminded me of my days growing up. The medicine cabinet you have looks like a twin to mine. I haven't blogged about it yet but I think I'll have to so you can see mine too.
Your garden is beutiful and I can see that you've put a lot of love into it. I'll be back soon to have a 'read' through your interesting blog. Take care, Maa.
