It was on the market for 4 days and on the fourth day was the first open house and it was sold that day. The street was packed with cars, 25 couples went through (mostly sticky beaks), 4 couples were interested, then it was down to 2 couples and they kept pushing the price up and up, each of them really wanted it...which was good for me...haha. The contract was signed at 7pm on that same night. It was sold for a lot more than we expected to get, which was just amazing!
I am so overwhelmed, shocked and it still hasn't sunk in yet.
And so the packing begins. I have 6 weeks to pack and the settlement date is on the day that I sail out on a cruise for a 2 week holiday....so it couldn't have worked out better.
It feels strange packing my things up and the house is starting to look very bare!
Can't wait for my next adventure....
Enjoy your day!
xx
Good luck with your move...and happy sailing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm looking forward to 2 weeks relaxing!
DeleteGood luck to you Karen with the packing and moving. Congratulations on the sale and congratulations to the lucky buyer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy. Yes, I think they are lucky buyers too with all the hard work I have put into the gardens and house...hope they look after my gardens!
Deletewe sold our 1st home in 4 days too and got 50grand more than we expected ,cause 2 people wanted it as well... cannot wait to see where you end up
ReplyDeleteWow that was a great gift to receive. Yeah, I can't wait to find a new place to start decorating.
DeleteCongratulations on the sale of your house, of course there was a bidding war, your house looks delightful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simmone for the lovely comments.
DeleteCongratulations on selling your house...my first house I had years ago went on the market at 1pm and it was sold 8 hours later and I the agent brought me the contract to sign at 9 pm that night (so thrilled) that was years ago but it's great that your house is not going to drag on because having to keep the place neat and tidy and personal papers and things out of the way for extended periods of time is a pain in the neck. Such a great result for you..it was meant to be. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane

Thanks Kathy. Yep, there is nothing worse that having your home like a show home and not relaxed.
DeleteCongratulations Karen! And to the buyer of your home, I am sure they will treasure it as much as you have. Enjoy your cruise and here's to all the exciting new adventures on your horizon!
ReplyDeleteTake care
